Instagram's profile page displays your posts as a 3-column grid of square thumbnails. If you upload a large image cut into 3×1, 3×2, or 3×3 squares in the correct order, the thumbnails line up to form one big image when someone views your profile.
The catch: you must post the tiles in reverse order(bottom-right first, top-left last). Instagram shows your newest post first, so the last tile you upload ends up in the top-left corner of the grid.
Choosing a grid size
- 3×1 (carousel): A single row — good for panoramic shots or a swipe-through carousel.
- 3×2:Two rows — balanced, doesn't take over your whole feed.
- 3×3: The full mosaic — the most striking, but it fills your entire visible profile for a while.

- Post tile 9 (bottom-right) first
- Then tile 8, 7, 6... working backward
